GT Children's Ministry

The aim of this ministry is to provide a safe environment for children to learn and develop their understanding of biblical principles with practical applications. A large proportion of  our teaching staff are qualified teachers with many year’s experience working in mainstream education, in nursery, primary and secondary schools

As well a weekly Sunday school classes, children are given the opportunity to explore their skills and talents as they learn through a variety of methods including arts and craft, music, drama, dance.  We also have a separate children’s church service on the second and fourth Sunday of every month.

Children's Ministry

Our Sunday School

The aim of Grace Tabernacle’s Christian Education Centre is to provide comprehensive education and training to individuals of all ages, so that they can develop a sound understanding of key biblical principles with practical applications.  Weekly Sunday School lessons are prepared in advance based on a specific curriculum.  Although similar themes are covered by each group, the lessons are tailor-made to suit the ages and abilities of the children in each group.  A variety of teaching methods are utilised in each class, including arts and craft, music, drama, dance, debates, cooking/baking, gardening, numeracy and literacy tasks, videos, games, puzzles and role plays. Our resources are constantly updated to suit the needs of the students.

Classes take place from 10.30 – 11.30am and children are taught in age appropriate groups as follows:

  • Preschool:2-4 years old

  • and Infants: 5-6 years old

  • Juniors: 7-8 years old

  • Seniors: 9-11 years old

  • Pre-teens and teens: 12-16 years old

The vast majority of our teaching staff are qualified teachers with many years’ experience working in mainstream education. This means that we are able to monitor the children’s development in different areas linked to the National Curriculum in an effort to supplement the teaching they receive in school.  Parents are given the opportunity to meet with their child’s teacher, at the end of the academic year, at our annual Parent’s Day in July.

Children's Church

Every second and fourth Sunday, the children (aged 5-11), have a separate children’s church service. This environment gives them the opportunity to build their confidence, by taking charge of their own worship experience, sharing their testimonies, words of encouragement and their own understanding of the Bible to each other. They also participate in a variety of activities to reinforce what they have learnt.

Summer Camp

The highlight each year is our Summer Camp, a 5-day residential retreat where children engage in an exciting range of programs and activities designed to provide an enjoyable, spiritual and educational experience for them.  The summer camps take place at a different location each year. Children take part in onsite sports, creative and teambuilding exercises, as well as various field trips. There is also a separate Youth retreat for the teens.
